Chef de Cuisine -Gerald Kastner

Nou's Toeka is proud to introduce Chef de Cuisine, Gerald Kastner.

Gerald, born in South Africa to Austrian parents, had the opportunity of completing Chef & Hotel training in Austria.

As highly qualified and sought after Chef, he accepted opportunities to travel to all corners of the world and gained extensive experience in his field of expertise.

It all began in 1982 when he was accepted as Chef Apprentice at the four star graded Astoria in Innsbruck / Tirol - Austria. After graduating he worked at various ski resorts in Austria and Switzerland before accepting an offer to join the Royal Caribbean International on the MS Sovereign of the Seas.

Upon his return to South Africa, he worked for Southern Sun Hotels, and then the Protea Hotel Group before moving to Swaziland in 1997 to join Sun International as Executive Chef.

Chef Kastner will soon be opening Edelweiss Restaurant at Nou's Toeka. Edelweiss will specialize in Germanic Cuisine from Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Northern Italy.
